Weekly Word of Faith 10: Still Loved, Still Chosen
This week’s scripture: Romans 8:38-39 – “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Life can often feel like a series of highs and lows, successes and failures, certainty and confusion. But no matter where we find ourselves, God’s love reminds constant. Romans 8:38-39 reminds us that absolutely nothing can separate us from His love. You are still loved. You are still chosen. Even when you feel broken, distant or unworthy, God’s love reaches you.
No matter how unworthy you may feel- God still loves you. He still chooses you. His love is not up for debate. It’s not withdrawn when you fall short, or conditional on how well you’re doing spiritually. Romans 8 makes it clear: NOTHING can separate us from the love of God– not even us.
The Unshakeable Love of God
There are days when guilt, shame or discouragement try to convince us we’ve gone too far, made too many mistakes, or missed our moment. But scripture tells a different story. Even when you feel undeserving, God’s love is drawing you back– reminding you that you’re still His.
The Apostle Paul makes it clear that God’s love is not fragile or conditional. It’s not swayed by what we’ve done or what we face. God’s love is eternal, unshakeable and always present. This means that even in your darkest moments, when doubt creeps in and shame tries to take over, you are not disqualified from His grace or calling. God’s love holds you, pursues you and reassures you that you still belong to Him.
You don’t have to feel loved to be loved.
You don’t have to feel chosen to be chosen.
Your status in God’s eyes is not defined by your emotions, but by His covenant.
What to Remember When You Feel Disqualified
1.Your Feelings Aren’t the Final Say: Emotions come and go. But God’s Word stands forever (Isaiah 40:8). His love is stronger than your insecurity or your uncertainty.
2.Your Mess Doesn’t Disqualify You: If anything, it qualifies you for grace. God doesn’t run from your mess– He steps into it. Like the father of the prodigal son, He meets you with compassion, not condemnation (Luke 15:20).
3.You’re Loved On Your Low Days, Too: Not just when you’re worshipping, praying or getting everything right– but in the silence, the struggle and the slip-ups.
4.Your Past Doesn’t Cancel Your Purpose: No matter your mistakes, God’s calling on your life stands firm. As Romans 11:29 says, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
God’s Love as Our Model
The ultimate example of enduring love is found in Jesus Christ. His life, death, and resurrection reveal the depth of God’s love for humanity—a love that bore the weight of our sin, believed in our redemption, hoped for our restoration, and endured the suffering of the cross. Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
God’s love is not based on our performance or perfection; it is unconditional and unchanging. As recipients of this love, we are called to reflect it in our relationships with others.
The Power of a Love That Won’t Let Go
Paul reminds us that nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love– not even ourselves. That means your doubts, your silence, your past, or your present weakness do not disqualify you from being chosen by God. His love is more secure than your feelings, and His choosing of you is more rooted in His character than your performance.
Biblical Reminders of Being Chosen and Loved
1.Peter: Even after denying Jesus three tines, he was restored and reaffirmed by Christ– and chosen to lead (John 21:15-19).
2.The Prodigal Son: He felt unworthy to return, but his father welcomed him home with open arms and celebration (Luke 15:17-24).
3.Jeremiah: God told him, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:5). God’s call comes before our qualifications.

Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally. Thank You that Your love is stronger than my doubts and deeper than my mistakes. Remind me daily that I am chosen, not because of what I’ve done, bit because of who You are. Help me to rest in Your love, to silence the lies of shame and fear, and the walk boldly in my identity as Your child. Help me to live in the freedom of Your grace and to walk in the confidence that comes from knowing I belong to You. Thank you that nothing can separate me from You– not my failures, not my past, not even my doubts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
